Color Scheme: Black, White, & Neutrals

Good morning and happy Friday my friends!

One of my absolute favorite color schemes is black & white with some neutrals mixed in to warm it up. The best part is, (in my opinion) you can use these three colors in any room and it works with any style. Don't believe me? Check out some beautiful representations of what I'm talking about and the mood board with how to get the look yourself!

Artist Spotlight: Inslee Haynes

Good morning and happy Thursday friends!

One of the most challenging parts of decorating is selecting art--in my opinion. Art is such a personal thing and selecting something for someone else can be hard.

As I was sourcing artwork online, I came across Inslee Haynes and immediately fell in love. Pen & ink with watercolor is so beautiful and her fashion illustrations are stunning. These prints would look fantastic as a gallery wall (which I'm considering doing myself!) In her words, Inslee's art is "whimsical, feminine and often fashion-focused".

Take a peek at some of my favorites:

You can check out her website and order prints online. I just ordered the 2015 calendar because it's half price and beautiful!

Color Crush - Cobalt Blue

I always seem to shy away from monochromatic color schemes, especially with such a bold color as cobalt. But take a look can be quite stunning:

Isn't it just electric?!

Check out these amazing inspiration photos I came across:

So, now for some practical application! How to infuse this color into your home? You can go full blown monochromatic like many of the images above, or just a hint to give a room a little extra punch of interest.

A Few of my Favorite Things-Outdoor Livin'

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend, how could you not with this gorgeous weather?!

Since the sunshine has been a common theme all week, I want to share with you some beautiful outdoor spaces that inspire and some resources to create your own outdoor haven.

My top five ingredients for backyard bliss...

1. Some sort of comfortable lounge chairs/seating
2. Candles/lanterns/string lights
3. Lots of greenery
4. An outdoor rug
5. Option for sun or shade

Here are a few of my favorite outdoor spaces I've come across:

Clearly I tend to err on the side of the bohemian look. To me it feels more relaxed as an outdoor space should!
