A Few of my Favorite Things-Outdoor Livin'

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a lovely weekend, how could you not with this gorgeous weather?!

Since the sunshine has been a common theme all week, I want to share with you some beautiful outdoor spaces that inspire and some resources to create your own outdoor haven.

My top five ingredients for backyard bliss...

1. Some sort of comfortable lounge chairs/seating
2. Candles/lanterns/string lights
3. Lots of greenery
4. An outdoor rug
5. Option for sun or shade

Here are a few of my favorite outdoor spaces I've come across:

Clearly I tend to err on the side of the bohemian look. To me it feels more relaxed as an outdoor space should!

What's important to you in your outdoor space?

Until next time,

Welcome to Woodland Hill's official Blog!

Hello friends, fellow artists & designers, and lovers of all things creative!

A lot has changed over the last several months and I'm thrilled to say that Woodland Hill is up and running with lots of exciting things on the horizon. One of which is the revamp of this blog. Previously called Inspire, Motivate, Create is now Paint it, Gold.

A little back story...

As an avid DIY-er it started to become apparent that my solution to a lot of things was to paint it gold...the hairpin table legs for a desk, a light fixture, a figurine, almost anything! From there, it started to turn in to a bit of a joke--"wow that's so cool, wouldn't it be even cooler if it was gold?!"

So therein lies the meaning behind the new blog title, as well as a little play on words from the Rolling Stones song, Paint it, Black.

Here are a few inspirations for adding a little sparkle with just a little paint...

Spray paint some branches to create a festive winter decoration:

I love how only the bottom portion of the dresser is painted; takes a traditional style and makes it modern:

Adding a little color and gold geometric shapes to your planters really give it a punch:

The idea of stenciling a wall has always caught my attention, how gorgeous is this?!

Just a hint of gold brushed onto molding can give a more elegant and glamorous feel..

On my trip to Germany last summer, we toured the gorgeous Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria and one thing that really stuck with me was the ceiling in the throne room, that peacock blue with gold stars was absolutely stunning:

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out my new posts each week!!
